Extended Maintenance! Ugh!

Since I couldnt just wake up and play WoW I decided to do a post about all the new pets!

Pterrordax Hatchling

• Will be available through Fossil Archaeology!  Yay for new fossil fragments!!

Voodoo Figurine

• FINALLY a Troll Archaeology pet!  (I kinda wish we could get a little voodoo doll though!) 

Lashtail Hatchling 

• Not really sure.  This hatchling was a part of a Stranglethorn Vale quest chain but you didnt get to keep the pet.  I am unsure if this will be changed and you receive the pet after completing the quest or if it is some sort of drop in Zul'Gurub.

Nightsaber Cub

• New TCG pet.  This will be a common card so shouldnt cost very much to purchase or your chances of getting this as a loot card are pretty good.

Winterspring Cub

• 50g from a vendor in Everlook.  Currently I do not know if this will require rep to be able to purchase.  Will update this ASAP

Panther Cub

• The Panther Cub's location has been discovered on the PTR but I haven't tested this on the live servers yet!  Trust me, as soon as they come up I will be letting you know!!. Currently, it is a reward from a quest found within the new Zul'Gurub quest chain.
• The chain begins in Stormwind and Orgrimmar and will lead you into Stranglethorn Vale to hunt down Mauti, a black panther. You won't need to complete the full quest chain to acquire the pet, but you will need to complete the pre-requisite quests leading up to it.

Legs

• New Reward for completing the Shattrath City Children's Week quests.  (Cross your fingers they allow the Oracle/Wolvar orphan fix this year!  I want a Wolvar pup!!!)

Landro's Lichling

• TCG loot card.  Re-skinned version of the Blizzard Store pet.

Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake

Just a quick congrats to Rickybolboa who won the roll on a drop of the Vitreous Stone Drake today in Stonecore.  Much like the Vortex Pinnacle mount this will drop on normal or heroic so it is able to be farmed. 

This is probably my favorite Cataclysm Drake so far!  In other news our mount runs went of as planned and we had a great turn out!  I scheduled both runs on Wednesday this week because I think the patch will be coming out tuesday and we will all want to be running the new instances and looking at all the cool new pets!  See y'all Tuesday afternoon!!

Guild Mount Runs!!!

Just a quick note about some mount runs that are scheduled this week!

Today at 9:00pm server time the guild will be doing a Tempest Keep run for the stunning Ashes of Al'ar .  The mount is not a guaranteed drop so it will be an open roll if we are lucky enough to have it drop.

Tomorrow at 7:00pm server time we will have an Onyxia's lair run.  Onyxia VERY RARELY drops the Onyxian Drake during this very short, one boss raid so hopefully we can do this weekly.  It only takes about 10-15 minutes.

I've got some more ideas for mount runs that are not soloable, like Vault of Archavon (VoA) for the Mammoth and Eye of Eternity for the Blue and Azure Drake.  I will let you know when those will be implemented!   If you have any other mount, pet, or rep ideas you would like to see as guild runs please let me know!

Drake of the North Wind

I had planned on doing this first blog about how to get Jadefang's Tiny Shale Spider, but last night fate intervened, when during a guild run Reins of the Drake of the North Wind dropped!  Cambriana (Caristra) was lucky enough to win this beauty (see picture below).  Some people didn't even realize a mount dropped in Vortex Pinnacle so I wanted to give you guys a bit of information about it.

The mount drops from the second boss in VP,  Altairus, on normal and heroic versions.  As far as I can tell the drop rate is the same for either difficulty.  The drop rate is 1% but don't get discouraged because there is no daily limit to the normal version!  People on Wowhead have been giving strategies on how to solo and duo this run on normal.  I myself have done this run several times with a tank and healer.  I expect as we get better gear this mount can probably be solo farmed with a little finesse by most classes.  Until then, next time you're bored que up for VP for a chance at the mount and take guildies with you!!!  Congratulations Cambriana!  This mount is beautiful!

Just the beginning!

Hi guys!  This blog will mainly be for my guildies (Addonexus of Nazgrel) but I also hope to find some outside followers as well :)  I'm Catraa, a Night Elf hunter, who is obsessed with vanity pets, mounts, and any cool, useless WoW related item.  There are a million blogs out there that showcase all of this stuff.  My blog will try to log my experiences getting these items, my guild's progression and news updates and any useful information I find during my OCD web searching!  I'm excited about showing off how bad ass my guild and also showing everyone how fun vanity WoW items are!
